today is SUZYs BIRTHDAY
yahoo. shes turning a big 18 years old. just old enough for me to legally be married to her. I can't believe how much I love this girl.
Happy Birthday Suzy-Que, may you have a blessed day. love ya.
and look at what a beautiful day today is. picture taken from the pier early this morning. I wonder why we're living here and not Nebraska. I like our winters here.
early morning surf...
life is so good. why do we sometimes go through trials and doubt that this life is good. we are all so blessed. I think sometimes its easier to understand this when we feeling good and healthy and doing something we want to do. something we dream of while work. dreaming of insane surf. now the quest is have that stoke in all times of our life. even when sick, or going through trials. to feel stoked at all times would be a great thing. a God thing.

Hiking in the rain
well suzy and I tried to find this waterfall a few weeks ago, but got lost and never found it. so on Sunday, while it was raining and stormy out, we grabbed our rainwear, headlights, some food and set off for a crazy adventure. the hike was the most insane thing I've done in a while. I'm still getting goose bumps from the whole thing. it was like hiking in a tropical rain forest. super green, lush, santa barbara mountains. and the waterfall, we found it. It is the most insane waterfall I've ever seen in santa barbara. about 75 feet high. And since we've had some rain lately, it was gushing. on the way back it got dark, so we put our headlights on and hike out. to top it all off, we headed down to get some grubby tacos at some hole in the wall. what a great way to end the weekend.

first thursday of the month
art. who can be without it. who can ignore it and who doesn't have it in them. art is a magical thing. we all have artistic abilities. some claim not to, but I would say "Everybody" has art in them. I think its God given creation that sparks our internal being with his art. we know how beautiful a sunset can be, or the ah we can get from snow tipped mountains. so, that all said, I'm pushing the involvement of people in art.
santa Barbara has a complete art show every First thursday of the month. there can be up to 3o or more different art galleries going on, all packed with people and refreshments. its awesome. today is the first thursday of February. it all takes place between 5 and 8pm downtown. here is a website of todays galleries. www.santabarbaradowntown.com
scroll down to the map. click on it to see where all the magic is happening. in addition, there is a free movie tonight at metro 4, at 8pm. The free screening of The Silly Age, is set in Havana Cuba.
see you tonight.

new header.....
got a new header. its the first time I knelt before Suz. only a week after I met her. some might not now the story so here it is. I met suz the day before new years eve. New Years Eve, I new I wanted to be with her for a long time. A few days later I asked her if she wanted to go to Hawaii. she said yes. so the next weeked we were off to Hawaii for..... the weekend. then the rest just kept rolling on. this picture was taken in the most beautiful bay by a friend, Anna Walden. we didn't even know she was taking pictures. we just turned around, I dropped to my knee and click we had my first quiet proposal. ha ha ha. it felt pretty good and by the time we left hawaii, I knew that suz wasn't going very far from me. so I drove down to san diego every other weekend to see her, and she came up here the other weekends. it only lasted 7 months till the luring natural wonders of santa barbara brought suz up here, instead of me going down there. phewwww, lucky me.
and so it was, 3 months after she moved up here, I proposed. Two months later, we were married. Exactly one year from the day I met her. the rest of the story will be explained in this blog.
